SEAT Leon (2005 - 2013)
S Copa 1.2 TSI 5dr Hatchback
terrible build quality of interior and high consumption
I've got the Leon now for an year and have clocked about 10 000miles,
The car has been having resonance issues from the grills from brand new appearing at any volume, the dealer said it was normal.
Consumption has been very high. On the highway a trip at 140km/h and mostly on cruise control for 2 hours returns 9l/100km consumption. Lowering the speed to 115kmh reduces it to 7.5/100. We have a fleet of about 15 of these cars and all people are complaining of very poor consumption, including cars with start/stop. Interior plastics suck big time. The steering wheel was not properly aligned from brand new, otherwise goes straight.
The insulation in the trunk is very flimsy and started dissasembling from the rear panels quite quickly.
Road noise goes in the cabin with no issues so could be tyring on bad tarmac.
Rear seat comfort and ride quality is terrible.
The supports on the lid at the trunk are low quality plastic breaking easily so do not apply pressure to it.
Gear change is not smooth always.
Car is underpowered, no idea why 1.2 was developed while 1.4tsi which seems to have better grunt and better overall consumption (although very slight)
