SEAT Ibiza (2008 - 2017)
FR 1.4 TSI ACT 140 5dr
Very satisfying purchase
My Ibiza has been a delight to own and drive over my 4 years of ownership. This is my 2nd Ibiza after owning a 1.6 Tdi, which was also a gem. A potent, smooth and very economical motor, which is just as happy dawdling at 30 as it is bombing down an A or B-road. MPG figures range from 46-55.
The sports suspension and tyres do mean that the ride through town can be a smidge harsh, but you get used to it and the dividends appear once you see how well it handles on quicker roads. Good comfort from the sports seats make longer journeys easy.
Very good quality build and well-specified, all of the important spec is included although I would have liked a sunroof.
I bought used with 8,000 miles on the clock from a SEAT dealer and the only problem I've had was an air con failure during my 1st year which was covered under warranty. Nothing else has failed, broken or fallen off, and with £20 road tax and reasonable insurance costs, it's been a really economical, practical and fun car to own.
A bit different and understated compared to the more, er, 'popular' VAG/German offerings, but just as well-made and just as capable.
