I WOULD NOT BUY THIS CAR!

I have leased a SEAT Ateca for two years and I really wish I hadn't.
I was told it would do around 68mpg extra urban and from the start, it was doing 39mpg even in Economy mode. Even now, after 7600 miles, the best it will achieve is 44mpg on a run.
The engine is noisy and high pitched, not particularly pleasant to listen to on your journey.
I think though, the worst part has been the terrible Seat customer services. When trying to resolve the issue I have been given options that were unrealistic like paying £140 for a test to check the engine didn't have any problems or finding someone else that would take the car on - difficult to do when I cannot recommend it.
I also visited a SEAT dealer (as SEAT recommended) to see if they were prepared to buy it and provide me with a different lease on a more economical car but SEAT would not agree a price with their dealer that made it worthwhile for the dealer to do the deal.
I have been sent around the houses several times with SEAT repeatedly 'closing' the complaint after giving me only a few days to put their suggestions into practice. I have been left with no choice and have put it with the Financial Ombudsman to resolve.
