Renault Zoe (2013 on)
Dynamique Intens 5dr CVT Auto Hatchback
If your normal usage fits the cars operating envelope it's perfect, driving the future now!
Having driven this car in a review for the Telegraph I enjoyed it so much I decided to investigate further. Looking at my routine daily driving I realised I never did much more than 60-70 miles per day. Range fully charged about 90 miles so that's ok then. My predicted use is to drive throughout the day and come home in the evening and plug it in, ready for the next days driving. Not planning to charge away from home. On longer journeys I'll take the 3l BMW!!!
Owning the car has been wonderful. Drives like any ic car except vibration free, very quite and pretty quick, especially in the urban overtake range of about 20 to 50 mph. Steering is wonderfully light at slow speeds but heavies up nicely at higher speeds. Styling has impressed all, especially the "coupe" look with hidden rear door handles. On board equipment is comprehensive including all the usual "toys", but strangely with all this electronic sophistication Renault decided to fit a manual dipping rear view mirror. Weird decision.
The general comment from jeering chums on driving my "milk float" has been "well, I didn't expect that" All have been suitably impressed.
Would I recommend this car, yes, yes, yes but with the proviso of course that it fits your motoring lifestyle.
