Wonderful fast monster of a car but at a high price

Had my 40sw 2 years , fantastic car full leather as executive sport tiptronc auto , but in town 20mpg is bad I get 80 miles for £20, my old astra mk4 2.0 dti did 180 miles for £20 in town and would drive from tenby to birmingham for £15 for 200 miles trip , 407 fab on a long run but put foot down the diesel is gone ! can get 4 mpg on trip computer if you boot it off the lights 4 ???? my tvr will do 18 minimum and thats a 500 bhp cebera !!!!
my old 2001 slk200 is outside it is cheeper to run than an auto 407 diesel ?? how ? why is the 407 so bad on fuel ???
