Expensive repairs

Update to my review from 2010

Moved out to Australia in 2011 and had the car shipped out with me, as cars (particularly European ones) are expensive, and I couldn't sell it in the UK for anything like a useful amount.

Currently reading 51 300 km. Using approx 13 litres/100 km on urban 'commuter' driving.

Fairly rare out in Oz.

Imports are charged more for insurance and have fewer companies willing to insurer them.

Trade-in values for personal imports are very poor.

Due to rarity in Oz, not many independents are familiar with Peugeots. Need to use main dealer - fortunately, have one near where I work.

Since being in Australia, I have had a number of issues with it:

Corroded tyre pressure sensor module. The module and the cost of re-initalizing the TPMS was over $500.

Two lots of broken wiring in the boot (one for the light and one for the lock) occurred at different times - cost about $130 each time.

Ignition coil packs: one coil per cylinder. It appears the original ones are a weakness ('shocking' were the words of the service manager). It appears that the replacement coils look quite different to the original ones.

Two ignition coil pack failures: one on Number 3 cylinder and one on number 6 cylinder. The latter requiring the manifold to come off. Since the manifold has to come off, it is best to do all three coil packs at once. $612 for parts and labour for the three rear coils. So long as neither of the front ones go between now and the next service in January 2014, I'll change the two remaining coils at the front.

Broken heater matrix: parts and labour $5000 (decided not to have repaired).
