Peugeot 308 (2007 - 2014)
1.6 HDi FAP SW Sport
Surprisingly good with only reservation being the poor ride
Bought demonstrator. Interior is reasonably well finished but no lumbar seat adjustment and I would like a dipping rear view mirror. Surprisingly spacious interior and holds two full sets of golf clubs and trollies under the tonneau cover. Has a limiter which is much more useful than cruise control. Excellent smooth diesel engine with plenty of power for normal use although struggles a bit with a full load. Had parking sensors fitted front and rear but garage had to fit a switch for the front ones rather than wired to switch off over a certain forward speed speed which it does if manufacturer fitted. Have driven it to the south of France and back when it averaged approx. 55 mpg. Local driving achieves 50+ mpg. It has been reliable without a single fault so far - a major surprise considering Peugeot's reported generally poor reliability.
The big problem for me is the hard jiggly ride not helped by lowish profile tyres fitted as standard on all but the lowest specified model. My car is termed a Sport model although how you can call a medium-sized estate car with a 1.6 turbo diesel a Sport model I fail to comprehend. The ride would stop me buying another of the same.
