Nissan Primera (2002 - 2006)
1.8 16v S 5dr Hatchback
Great Car - hard to find a replacement!
I have this car since 2007-2016 (date of review). I have to say, it has been a pleasure to own this car. The ride is fantastic and the engine is wonderful. The cabin is spacious and despite being 13 years old, it has been good.
If you are reading reviews to buy this car, and if you do find a 'good example' of this car just grab it!!
The 1.8 for some perverse reason feels a little sleepy. It is not a typical Nissan engine which are very lively engines. I am not the sort of person, who revs hard, but the car will take it.
It is Japanese, but it was built around Renault partnership.
The music sound is great, but not as good as previous Primera (P10) which had a factory fitted Blaunkpunt sound system (one of the best and better then cars fitted with Bose sound systems!).
The car has been reliable, but not as reliable as my previous Nissans. (The only extra was engine mounts, loom change, coil pack and sensor faults).
When ever I go on holiday and rent cars (even though they are newer), I still love my Primera and it feels like home.
My biggest problem is trying to find a similar. As many manufacturers have stopped making large hatchbacks.
The car has great loading, have loaded an oven, 3metre long times. It might struggle with 3metre long worktop and 8x4 sheet material, but other then then, it has never let me down carrying flat pack kitchens from IKEA!
