Nissan Primera (2002 - 2006)
2.0i 16v SE 5dr Estate
Underpowered thirsty, roomy comfortable.
I have owned many cars, I am not a fan of anything french, but have found Japanese cars to be very reliable with some excellent features that you often will not find on british cars. This was my third primera-I have had a series 1 (P11) 1.6 hatch excellent car in every respect, a series 3 (P11 facelift) which was even better in every respect, I foolishly thought that things can only get better or at least not be worse, I am very disappointed with the fuel consumption average is about 27-28 MPG with sensible driving much less if you drive it hard, unfortunately if you want any performance out of the car you have to work the gearbox and despite having six forward gears they are so poorly set up that you are changing gears constantly unless cruising-even uphill you have to drop a gear to maintain speed. The car had 90k with a full history when I purchased it but within 6 weeks I had to replace the heater blower and the rheostat , at the MOT 6 Months into ownership the steering rack needed replacing. The up sides are plenty of room as a load carrier and in the rear passenger area, comfy ride and interesting styling and layout. I am now looking to replace it with a ford focus.
