Awesome

I sold my previous car a Mitsi Shotgun which was also awesome.

This car is realistically the only way I can have a company car as a director and not be scalped.

Because this car saves me £6000 a year, I love it.

That's £500 a month.

Lets talk fuel economy.

Mitsi promise 149 MPG with a full charge 46 MPG with a low charge.

The reality.

My 18.8 mile day trip to work is normally done exclusively on battery. There is mostly some battery left.

£1 gives about 25 miles unless you are driving very hard.

£5 in petrol is about a gallon these days. So it is possible for a normal driver to get 125miles per electric/gallon/equivalent on shorter trips.

Doing a longer trip for example 60 miles, expect to see 60-70 MPG on the screen.

Doing a trip to France with no battery.

Using the internal D roads and enjoying the view, I got 42 to the gallon, with a fully loaded car.

Coming home with a fully loaded car (lots of wine!) I got 32 to the gallon doing 80-90 on the motorway.

My AVERAGE as an AVERAGE driver doing the AVERAGE UK annual mileage is 65MPG

I include the cost of recharging which is about £1 (9KW)

That is insanely good. a large automatic car with all the toys, no road tax.

I might put in £10 of petrol a month to cover longer trips.

"Whats is like to drive?"

Quiet. Smooth. pokey. handles well for a 4x4.

The pull is available all the time, and instantly from a standstill, so pulling away from the lights the car is fast and responsive. Not much is quicker, and its easy.

It is a 4x4 not a sports car, it handles well for a 4x4 and as a layperson I think it is as easy and comfy to drive as a large estate.

The satnav is great, once you have read the book. It is very accurate and covers all of Europe.

I like the fact the satnav screen is also shown on the dashboard, it makes foreign trips easier.

The headlights are a special type of HID/XENON. they are the best by a country mile I have ever used, they also do not need beam benders so on holiday I have brilliant headlights. Score.

A large sun roof, heated seats, lots of toys.

Did I mention quiet?

It is. very. round town even more so.

Space, inside is a large car. lots of space for 4-5 ADULTS and a boot big enough for a Weimaraner.

Mitsubishi, you have a couple of improvements to make.

1/ Lumber support. The seats are great, this needs adding
2/ Ergonomics. The switch that controls the dashboard display that is used a lot is hidden by the steering wheel.
3/ The passenger seat is not height adjustable.

I can sit in this car all day and not have back ache.

So you've probably guessed it that I like this car a lot.

Lets talk tax, specifically company car tax.

This is currently at 5% BIK, this means it is the lowest possible rate. normally reserved for tiny or electric only cars. (Not a large, 200HP 4x4)

Your employer can "write off 100% in year 1" this means my company gets about £6k of next years corporation tax. score

PAYE/NI benefits, These are available too with the low emissions.

This car is saving me £6000 a year. love it.

Now if you are a mega high mileage user, and cannot plug it in every day at home or work you will achieve nothing like my real MPG. Mitsi have a number of 106miles, they claim under this the PHEV is cheaper than a diesel, over this the diesel is cheaper. I think, in my opinion as an ordinary motorist that number is about 75 miles.

There is another review on this site where the user is not getting good MPG, he talks about using the charge button, this is where the car is forced to run on petrol (drive on petrol) and charge the battery up. This mode is supposed to be used when you are forced to drive just on electricity, the manual explains this is an expensive option. Sorry the dealer should have explained this feature better. Or suggested a diesel if you are mainly a high mileage user. This type of hybrid does not suit everyone. The dealer I used asked me lots of questions, and kept suggestion the diesel...until I borrowed one for a long weekend to try it out/

I have also found to get a good range from the battery 25 or 26 miles the tyre pressure needs to be spot on. makes a big difference in this car.

The clever part of this car is that it does all the complex stuff for you. you get in and drive. Unless you are flooring it you never hear the engine, and you would be hard pressed to know when the engine is running. this is a compliment.

The 65 MPG includes the cost of the electricity.

a full sized 4x4 as a company car that costs me peanuts.

Try one, you might like it

I will update this in a year or so.

Cost, expect to pay £29K for a loaded one either prereg or demo. forget paying list prices!!!!!
