Mazda CX-3 (2015 - 2019)
2.0 120ps SE-L Nav 2WD 5dr
Mixed up mazda
The good points - looks nice, comfortable driving position, great fuel economy for a 2 litre petrol (47mpg mostly out of town), stop/start works except below 6 degrees, electronic handbrake works well, easy to drive - handles well, clear displays, info system controls are sensible, heating/demisting works well.
Things you have to accept - not a roomy car, not practical for lugging kids/dogs/DIY stuff, visibility isn't great, no spare or spacesaver, Mazda dealerships are not wonderful.
Bad points - too much gadgetry which doesn't always work, settings on the onboard info/entertainment/ sat nav have a mind of their own and change themselves, the forward facing sensor in the windscreen mists up which stops the auto wiper working and means you get proximity warnings for the auto braking system, the seat bolsters are disintegrating after less than 20k miles, tyre wear is very poor - 16k on front tyres and 19k on rear, and the gearbox has issues - thought it was the 'notchiness' due to being MX5 box but gears are hard to engage at times particularly second gear - I suspect synchros are knacked which I've never experienced before and previous 3 cars (Hyundai) gave no problems at over 50k miles each so its not my driving.
In summary, high medium range pricing for Mazdas but, with the exception of the excellent MX5, these are well designed but very over-priced cars. Only had the car a short time but will get rid at one year old. Disappointed.
