Mazda 3 (2009 - 2013)
1.6 Tayuka 5dr hatchback
Suitably impressed so far, but the year is still young.
Partner used to own a spiffy MX3 so decided to give the brand a try after two previous disappointments. Car handles like a big boys version of the MX3 provided you are prepared to work the car to it's full potential. 1.6 VVTi engine is not going to set the world alight but is a capable power plant that will provide a good economic return at the pumps. Interior is very tidy and contrary to previous reports I have read, you do not need to be a computer engineer to operate the radio console. Only change I would make is to separate the AUTO lights function to the opposite side of the off position on the stalk as you have to switch through the auto position in order to get to the sidelights setting. Cruise control is accurate and responsive in operation, heated front windscreen a must and cannot live without it now. Boot interior just seems to go on forever, rear parking sensors are initially a leap of faith if you've never experienced before but accurate. Overall quite pleased but as I mentioned, the year is still young and we are both on a learning curve.
