Kia Sorento (2010 - 2015)
KX-2 2.2 CRDi 194 Auto 5dr SUV
Ideal Family Wagon
Had this used KX-2 Automatic for 7 months now. Coming from a much smaller 4X4 the KIA's size and automatic gears have took some getting used to. So far to improve the car I've had an economy remap carried out which has helped the consumption a little. Averaging 30 mpg in winter 36-38mpg in the summer. Replaced many of the lights with LED one's, and HID headlights are to be installed very soon. The car was sold with worn and dreadful budget tyres, which were detrimental to the ride. These have now been replaced with Michelin latitude cross which have transformed the handling and fuel economy of the car. Overall the Sorento feels very solid at motorway speeds and you have to watch your speed as the car is a very comfortable cruiser.
In town driving it can be a bit of a handful and seems to struggle to change up to gear when the engine is cold, once warmed up the auto box is fine. I've noticed despite the car being 6 years old now it still gets many admiring looks. Having a family of 5 and 2 large dogs the Sorento is ideal as a family car and a few times we have used all 7 seats, with adults on board which the Kia barely seemd to notice . Only had one minor problem with a rear door lock which was fixed free of charge by KIA. I would highly recommend this car as an alternative to an MPV, as it can do so much more and is fantastic in the winter with its front heated seats, auto lights, parking sensors and stable road manners.
