Overall reliability

Basic, but comfortable runabout.

Overall, in the first few months I've been driving the i20 it's been really good. I bought it from a dealer with just 3000 miles on the clock and it looks and feels brand new. Everything works as it should and all of the control inputs are really light. It's a joy to drive. It has loads of space for four adults and my bike fits in the back (front wheel off, seats down). It's solidly built and generally smooth riding with enough poke to keep up with the traffic. It has all the basic toys that you need in a car including air-con and plenty of adjustment of the driving position.

The downside is fuel consumption. As someone who has always managed to match or beat the official figures I have been horrified to see that no matter how carefully I drive it, I can't do better than 45mpg with an average of 43mpg. To be fair, the dealer assures me that fuel consumption will improve over the next 10,000 miles but there seem to be plenty of others suffering the same problem. Hyundai assure me that an LPG conversion would invalidate the warranty. So don't expect anything like the fuel consumption they claim.
