Very reliable but problems with rear wheel bearing failure & water in spare wheel well

We have been very pleased with the car, with it's all round versatility & fuel economy. On a run it will average 50+ to the gallon. Seats are good but not so good for long journeys, offering poor support.
Rear offside wheel bearing failed at 29,00 miles Honda did not want to know as it was just out of the warranty period. It has just failed again at 49,000 miles and has to be replaced. It is a known problem evidently, but I have never rplaced rear wheel bearings in a car in 50 years of motoring. Now have discovered water in the spare wheel well, again a known problem, but although, it was taken in on the recall to replace the faulty switch on the drivers side window, last month, nothing was said about this although Honda will repair this if the car is under 6 years old.

Would buy again, but need to check the car out every now and again & monitor for feedback on known problems.
