Honda Jazz (2001 - 2008)
Honda Jazz 1.3 SE CVT auto 5dr
Almost the complete package: reliable, practical, economical, but a bit pricey to service & dull to drive
Our Jazz is over 6 years old now. Looking back, it's been extremely reliable and any problems have been sorted out quickly and efficiently by Honda dealers. Worth mentioning is a free repair to the CVT clutch after 6 years, which typifies Honda's first-class customer service. We average 43 mpg and think that's good. The CVT auto box makes the car very easy to drive. The ride is mostly very good, while the seats are surprisingly comfortable even on long journeys. It isn't particularly fast, and it's not great to drive (the steering lacks "feel"). Tyre wear has been average. Ditching the factory-fitted Bridgestones for UNIROYAL RAIN EXPERTS made an enormous difference for the better to ride, steering and wet handling. Servicing is on the pricey side for a small car but our experience of Honda main dealers has been really excellent. The car is very well built and there are few rattles or squeaks even after 6 years' use. The versatility of the car means you can use it as a small estate - very very useful. Overall, absolutely no regrets at all that we bought one.
