Zetec 160ps Ecoboost stop/start

Excellent all-rounder

The Mondeo is a big car but it handles well in all situations - smooth, quiet and comfortable on the motorway and agile in urban conditions. The stop/start function takes a little bit of getting used to as does the six speed gearbox but both are fine. Whilst company car drivers usually opt for the diesel versions the 1.6 ecoboost engine is delivering an average of 36 mpg - pretty good for the mix of driving that I do. The driving position is comfortable and the steering and roadholding is very good. For its size the Mondeo is good value for money. The bluetooth feature that provides hands free mobile telephone use is a very good feature. My only quibble is that Ford put these vehicles out with only a conventional radio rather than a more forward looking DAB.
