Dual mass flywheel broke apart with spring causing friction and fire in underpan

Purchased second hand knowing clutch needs replacement. That was done at salesroom expense BUT did not change the DMF. I use vehicle as a hackney and after 12,000 miles on new clutch the DMF broke and spring caused friction which caused hot metal to fall onto under pan and catch fire. It was only with good citizenship of another motorist that I was made aware. Now the garage decline to carryout repairs at their expense. Reading other reports on DMF it appears that they are a known failure point so surely should be changed with clutch replacement
