Ford Focus (2018 on)
1.0 125 Titanium EcoBoost Auto 5dr
Excellent car, comfortable, economical, pleasant to drive, with good build quality.
Bought as a Ford Direct car with a 36 month warranty. Up to now it has been trouble free except for a few battery and start/stop issues in the first 12 months. After a couple of flat batteries the AA advised to fit a new battery. They said the battery as fitted can be a problem. Had a BOSCH battery fitted and since that date, no problems at all. That includes leaving it on the drive for two months when we were in Australia. On returning, it started first button press.
I record all petrol and mileage as I did when working. On local runs I can expect 36-45. On the motorway at 60MPH with Eco mode set, cruise and aircon both on I can get over 60MPG.
The automatic is brilliant, really good. In Sport mode it is quick. If you are tempted to play games at the lights, it won't let you down. In normal mode still very good. I have only ever put Shell V-Power in it from the start (or equivalent 98 RON, or better)
I came from a C-Class to this. I considered an A-Class replacement but that was less comfortable, a ten year old shape and more expensive to service and run.
Services every two years but will have an oil change in between. Very satisfied with the local Ford dealer and servicing in Cheltenham, who I have every confidence in.
I bought the car in 2020 to put off buying a hybrid or EV for many years and up to now I cannot see that I will need to change my thinking.
