Overall reliability

excellent.

I've had my car for seven and a half years now, and it just keeps going. Dont be put off if someone tells you to avoid the pushrod 1.3 ohv engine; they've probably never lived with it. This is a tough old design which has an internal chain instead of a belt and is usually mated to a completely bulletproof gearbox. Regular engine oil changes help. While this is not a very powerful engine, it is a very strong engine. My car has never failed to start, in any weather, and always gets me there. It has NEVER broke down, and replacement parts and the labour for any work needing done is very reasonable coz its an easy car to work on. The main problem with the fiesta is bodywork corrosion. The steel is good quality and does take years to decline. So to sum up: a totally reliable dependable member of the family !
