1.0T 100 Zetec EcoBoost Navigator 5dr Hatchback

Brilliant, up to a fortnight ago

Needed a grandchildren vehicle for reliable short and long haul. Also required reasonable clearance. From 2013 to early June 2017, excellent. Managed up to 58 mpg on motorway, 42 minimum on short trips. Regularly serviced. Only problem was replacement of rear light bulb (both sides). Easy DIY job.
Then two weeks ago engine started to sound irregular and felt unbalanced on tick over. When warm it took up to 3 cranks to start. 'Engine malfunction' light came on. To Ford main dealer. Diagnosis ? New spark plugs ( no difference) then in for 5 days of tests including check on leakages etc. No verdict. Dealer unable to explain, returned car without rectification.
Now very concerned. Engine out of warranty and concerned that the fault serious.
So Excellent car, ideal small mpv - until two weeks ago
