Overall reliability

Possibly the best all round small SUV one could buy, fantastic on and off-road.

I have had this Panda Cross 4x4 from new. In the 6 years I’ve owned it I’ve covered more than 120,000 miles without any major issues, with the car being completely reliable. Driving has been mostly country ‘B’, ‘C’ roads but also a deal of motorway and off-road driving. I’ve kept meticulous records of fuel used and the average has been 52.4mpg. I don’t understand why, or how others get 35-45mpg!
The car has been serviced regularly (every 9000 miles), initially by a main dealer, followed by a trusted independent fiat specialist. I switched to the independent when the main dealer reported that a cracked pipe in the exhaust system would involve a £1500 to £2000 repair (see below). Replacement parts have included 1 set of front and rear discs and pads, front lower wishbones, and rear shock absorbers. The only main issue was the cracked pipe from the catalytic converter. Together the independent garage and I sourced a nearly new one from a breakers yard and they fitted it for a total cost of less than £200. it has functioned faultlessly over the past 50,000 plus miles. The engine still runs smoothly and doesn’t use any appreciable oil. There are no oil leaks.
The interior is still smart and clean, the blue-tooth and radio, whilst basic are adequate with good quality sound.
I will definitely replace the car with a new Panda 4x4 Cross.
