Beyond economic repair
I purchased this car with 280 miles on the clock 61/2 years ago. Up to 76000 miles it was reliable and economic (62+ mpg). At 76000 miles the offside front spring broke followed by the other at 77000. This was nothing compared to the problems from 81500 to 83000 when I dumped it. The engine management light came on and after 6 visits to a main FIAT dealer and the intervention of FIAT no repair could be made. They replaced 2 pressure sensors, EGR valve and the temperature sensor all to no avail, other than to deplete my bank account. FIAT’s suggestion was dismissed by the dealer as being ridiculous. I bought a Kia Cee’d so I would be covered by the 7 year warranty.
