Practical and great for long journeys

We have had this car for some time now, its not fast or sexy at all but it is huge and swallows a vast amount of kit.

Whats Good

Space inside - loads of space for a family of four and a tremendous amount of luggage. It is very easy to drive long distances and get out fresh and unfatigued - ours has been down to the south of Europe and the north of Scotland and these types of journey are something to look forward to in this vehicle. Great visibility for the driver with the huge windscreen. I also like the fixed wheel centre and the fact the controls were as good as the same as our C4 Coupe. Put winter tyres on and its great in snow and ice - we used it for a skiing trip to the alps and it seemed more happy than some of the local vehicles. All seven seats are comfortable and usable by adults.

Whats Bad

Fuel economy could be better - our previous Xsara Pic would return 60 mpg off the same engine if driven carefully we get 50 mpg driving it the same way. Citroen's inability to paint aluminium reliably. We had paint blistering and Citroen UK paid 90% of the replacement panel and its painting but only after I kicked up a stink (with the dealer's support - aluminium panels are not covered by the corrosion warranty and the car was still in its normal warranty period.) In auto the EGS gearbox is rather "lurchy" I tend to drive the car in manual. It has had seemingly an annoying number of recalls. Cleaning around the back seats is a pain, removable seats like the Xsara Pic would make this task a lot easier. Its not as good looking as the car it is nominally based on. The bumpers do scratch down to, and into, the plastic easily

I'd recommend it to a friend. Why anyone would pay more to buy the Peugeot badged version over the Citroen one I have no idea!
