I look forward to driving it every time because of its classic look, perfect driving position and responsiveness.

This five year old design is still within the current BMW range so in my opinion it represents a classic design with elements of the iconic 2002 model. I love its chunky looks with its scooped bonnet and coach line doors plus superb LED rear lamps. I have driven the car round the Knockhill racetrack and am an IAM member so have some appreciation of the perfect driving position and agile handling.

The cabin has an extraordinary ability to accommodate a disabled elderly relative because of its wide 2 door configuration and the 4 wheel buggy fits in the deep boot. The car delivers around 54mpg (12mpg more than the 2004 1 Series). I love the heated seats, fsh and folding mirrors. Okay there must be some criticism, so I'll go for the wind noise caused by the external mirrors and that's about it.
