Driver's car that's really a 2 + 2

It a driver's car with a superb 8 speed torque converter auto box. I chose the 1 series after driving a succession of 3 series models since 2000 because it is rear wheel drive. I can't fault the car for sheer driver enjoyment but I can for the limited rear passenger and boot space. The only problem I have had in 3 years is the persistent squeaks from the rubber door seals. This has now been finally fixed with the application by BMW of teflon tape around the door frame. The car is now quiet. I would have purchased an Audi A3 auto, but after one bad six month experience with the DSG box on Passat, I went back to BMW. Sadly this will be my last BMW as in future I will be looking for a small SUV with a longer warranty such as a Kia. If you do buy a 1 series, make sure you specify xenon or LED headlights, the standard halogens are pathetic and not a match for the cars performance. There is no retro fit.
