The most unreliable car since 80's Alfa's
I've had this car for 27000 miles from new. It has had 4 clutches (infamously made of chocolate) a new CV, a new gearbox, new Turbo, new Head, it sometimes decides it doesn't want to go to work so won't start. Its an awful car but i just cant part with it because its so much fun. I do wish it would just die so I can move on.... but it won't! They snap driveshafts, every s1 bumpers sold was dented, the MMI has fits and stops working, the brakes squeak... awful thing.
Maybe I got a Friday afternoon dog, but I'm not the only one having these problems. Join the S1 UK owners club in Facebook and just look at the issues on there. Its the only owners club I know where we all moan about how such and such is broken today.
