Most reliable used car I have ever owned

I purchased this car as a 3 year old ex lease. it had clearly been looked after by its initial user which always helps.
Other than service items and consumables such as filters, oil, tyres I have had to do precisely nothing in 4 years and 40K miles. (Apart from wheel alignment the day after i bought it )
In my youth i covered much greater mileage and would have loved this car back then.
The V6 is smooth as silk with pleanty of ooomph. Mine is paired with an old fashioned fluid flywheel 7 speed auto. Leather seats have held up well over 80K miles and are very comfortable and supportive.
Chain driven cams - so no expensive can belt service either. Gear changes are a little slow in normal mode but put it in S and it is very responsive. These days though with speed cameras and crowded roads i tend to let it do its own thing and only use "S" mode if I need to pass something at full bore.
Steering feel is a bit bland and it does understeer a bit too much for my liking but it isn't a lotus for heavens sake. A light foot at sub 70 MPH motorway / A road driving can give you over 50 MPG .. which when you have the losses from a quattro system and 250 BHP under your right foot is remarkable. You don't notice the 4x4 but on a snow covered uphill driveway or on a trip to the highlands .. It really works and you can feel very smug
I'd always recommend laser tracking of the front wheels. Mine was out when i bought it, but for less then a £100 quid i got it sorted and it made a huge difference. Good car, well engineered, maybe lacks a touch of soul but it is a first rate piece of kit.
