Quality car which balances short distance electric with overall high performance

Can I add some info to that of your correspondent last week. We have owned an A3 E-tron for 31/2 yrs from new. I like it (my Wife loves it), and it has now done +25k miles. It is used for local running on electric, up to to 20ml trips, and long distance, largely motorway speeds, on engine. We live in a semi urban/rural area. The battery range indicator is flakey and varies depending on, ambient temperature on charging and type of running before being charged. In the winter a full charge can indicate at least 5 miles less than the summer, and the actual mileage obtained will also be substantially less. If the engine has been largely used on the immediately previous run then a charge level of 26-27miles can be shown on the subsequent full charge. We generally charge outdoors overnight on cheap rate via a dedicated meter, and have an extensive record of consumption. It has been recharged nominally 900 times with a consumption of approx 3750units at about 7.5p. We have seen at this point very little fall off in battery performance, perhaps a slight reduction in charge level/mileage in the cold weather. Audi give a conditional battery warranty for 8years which indicates a fall off of up to 30% as being normal. As we are nearly half way into that period I think the current battery performance is well within that range.
I have other info on fuel and electrical mileage/consumption if that is of interest.
