ford focus zetec 2010 - ford warranty - no joy when returning for fix - Fleabie36

Hi i purchased a used ford focus from evans halshaw last year in march it is still under warranty until march 2013 and has doen less than 30,000 miles

I drove it off the forcourt and it juddered like mad so took it back and they had it for a full week and gave me the car back, informing me it was nothing wrong on the diagnostics, but they had changed the spark plugs.

A couple of months later i returned it as it was doing the same and the engine management light kept coming on, i had read onthe internet it would probably be the HT leads. I informed them of this and again they returned it to me changing 1 spark plug.

The car does exactly the same thing and i booked it in with them for a full service costing £200, they told me they didnt change anything as it had been done before.

i had a call the other night booking the car in for a health check and i was asked if the car was running ok, i informed them it never has since driving off the forecourt, but the women just said she wouldmake a note of it.

What are my rights as a customer? Am i covered under the warranty? i really do not want to use this garage i feel fobbed off every visit.

You have done 30K miles since March last year or that is the recorded mileage now? I understand you to say that it juddered when you drove it off the forecourt - in March last year(?)and it is still doing it? Why did you not drive it straight back on the forecourt then and there. I reckon your chances of getting it fixed after almost 18 months are very low. Perhaps I am missing some point(s) in your post.

NO it has done less than 30,000 miles about 27k when i purchased the car it had done 15k in march 2011. I did drive it straight back to the garage the day after purchasing it and they had the car for 1 week. When they gave it me back it was ok for a month or so.

I took it back again this time the engine management light was on. One of the garage workers even drove it home to liverpool this time and agreed there was something wrong so they changed the spark plugs and gave it me back.

the car now only juddered intermittently and 6 weeks ago it had a full service and the same problem was reported. They changed one spark plug. It is now doing it constantly and they want me to take it for a health check, of which is the first time since owning the car.

i do not want to take it back for a health check to be charged for something that has been ongoing. Reading the warranty it is covered for HT leads which is what i informed them may need replacing in the first place, so why am i being fobbed off with spark plugs which obviously are not solving my problem.

Hi, we bought a car from the same company last year new baby but it was full of water. The simple answer is once they have their money they don't care. We had the car for 1month and only put 40 miles on our car but had to take a hit of £1000 as they would only give a tradin value against a car in their fore court.

If you have a car on finance you have better stance. Other wise you will get nowhere. We contacted the parent company as the have a policy of mediating but when you DO get through to them they dont want to know.

think i will just go to a normal garage and cancel the health check, nobody seems to know what the hell they are doing and just charge extortionate prices for services. I will never visit Evan Halshaw again and when they contact me by phone again (which seems to be every 6 months) they will be told exactly what i think of them.
