Help if anyone still reads this!!!
I have a 02 plate 2.2i astra convertible. The car was working properly up until we had the recent snow. I tried to start the car, the car turned over and started but then cut out. I tried again and again but still the same thing was happeneing. The car was low on fuel though. I pushed the car off the slight incline it was on the the car started. There was a slight knocking when the car was turning over. When the car started, it was knocking slightly but was running on 3 cylinders and really flat. The car starts first time but the revs go up and down and it struggles to tick over. In a high gear at low revs, the car shunts back and forth. It sound better when the throttle is pushed, but it sounds flat and there is no guts in it. I can smell the cat strongly where there is unburnt fuel passing through the exhaust.
I have had a look at the plugs. They are a little sooty, but not too bad. I've taken the EGR valve off and had a look. Again, it was a little sooty but not too bad. A mate has plugged in a BDO diagnostic in and there are no error codes. Can anyone suggest anywhere else to look? I hope it's not too expensive!!
{Moves to a stand alone thread as was originally tagged onto a question for different make of Vauxhall}
