My front pads and discs are mintex (box set) that I got 2 years ago (25000 miles)

They now have a fairly deep groove on both sides and now make a fairly loud screech just when stopping from slow. Therefore im considering swapping them. Ive always used ferodo before and have been fairly impressed.

Im considering the brembo max discs which I have seen or maybe EBC ultimax pads and discs.

Does anyone have any opinion on these?

What others could I be looking at. I want good stopping power without rediculos prices.

{Guessing it's a 2001 2.0 from a forum search - will correct if wrong}

The materials and dimensional tolerances of the original parts can never be replicated on non-genuine spares. I personally would fit genuine spares.

At 25k you must drive like a animal!

Im not half worn on my original set at 24k yes i do use the brakes but not hard and use gears on hills etc.

Use top quality brakes and try a different driving style.

my driving style is fine thanks

they arent worn down as such just a deep groove.

anyway brakes pads and discs are cheaper to replace than gearboxes.
