Hi

I have just had my 2nd service 25k 2 years old, front pads had 30% wear, rear pads had uneven wear but upto 90% wear.
The dealer informed me that this is normal for vectras!!!
I have never replaced rear pads in any car i have owned. Any advice would be appreciated.

Since the deletion of anti lockup valves on rear brakes (rendered unnecessary by ABS) the rate of rear pad wear has generally increased.

I understand that but not that much wear, and that does not explain the uneven wear on both sets of pads.

Correct. It gets mentioned quite frequently over on Vectra-c.com.

However, some people's cars rear brakes are lasting longer than others. My Vectra-C for instance was serviced at 41,000 miles and was commented the rear pads are 90% worn. Some people's are lasting longer than that, others less - similar mileage to yours.

if the pad wear is about even, pad to pad not side to side, then there is no need to worry but if one pad is far greater worn than the other then its a caliper problem,Regards TB
