1998 1.8T cracked windscreen on the inside - Peter D
Went out to the car today and noticed a crack in the windscreen. Closer inspection shows a crack the starts under the plastic at the bottom of the screen and rises up 25 cm or so in an 'S' shape. No marks on the outside and the crack is on the inside. Rang the insurance and the RAC and they had not heard of this before. I'll have to get it changed next week. Bother. !! Regards Peter

Sounds like a stress fracture in one lamination.
