I have a Varta B18 "Blue Dynamic" calcium/silver battery on my car. Given the recent hot weather, I am concerned as to the fluid level in the cells but seem unable to remove the cover to check. Can anyone please advise if the cover is supposed to lift off or if this is some kind of "sealed for life " item?
Thank you, Pete.

"Features - PowerCheck. Advantages - State of charge at a glance "
The PowerCheck function of the VARTA BLUE dynamic High Performance
The BLUE dynamic High Performance?s PowerCheck function displays the battery's state of charge at a glance. In this manner you can always keep informed about the energy supply of your battery and avoid surprises when attempting to get it started.
This is what the display tells you:
Green:
The battery is optimally charged, which guarantees a reliable start at all times.
Black:
The battery?s state of charge is not optimal anymore. The battery should be recharged. (Afterwards, the display switches back to green again, and you can keep driving without problems.)
Transparent-light:
The state of charge is insufficient for a reliable starting process. In that case, a replacement is necessary.
