And boy do I mean kargarooing! My mum's Mk4 Fiesta 1.25 has developed a severe stutter that is akin to a switch going off and on as power is transferred to the front wheels. I think that this must be an electrical fault - is there a common zetec problem? It s a 1998 1.25 zetec LX by the way. Thanks!

Coil packs are a known problem on these. Usually starts as a misfire under load and then gets worse.

Ok will try this. Should I buy another coil pack? Are they expensive?

About £50 IIRC. We sell a few of these a year(and I work for a motor factor, not a ford dealer).

Well its been a while and we have replaced the coil (not easy to find) but its as bad as ever. So backroomers any other ideas?

Does this fault only occur during specific throttle openings and can you drive thro it by pressing harder on accelerator pedal?Could possibly be throttle position sensor ,about £30.

Could it be an air leak or fuel starvation? Seems the fuel filter is under the rear chassis so may not have been changed during servicing.
