Err, um, we have a tie for first place. (Damp squib or what!!)
Due to naughty underhanded campaigning by NoDosh in the previous round, and quite possibly earlier rounds to keep the Alfa 156 in the Garage (thus consequently screwing up the voting in the final round), Big Brother halved the nominations for the Alfa, and this brought the final results near as damn it equal to the nominations for the TVR.
The Seat Leon scored considerably less nominations than both the TVR and the Alfa, so 3rd place goes to the Spanish one.
As the nominations were so close after the amendment by BB, the winners are the TVR & the Alfa.
This decision *hopefully* won't make ND too smug.
Here is a reminder of the results in reverse order:-
13th - Renault 5, (prematurely evicted for instigating a riot.)
12th - Vauxhall Vectra.
11th - Lada Samara.
11th - VW Golf.
9th - Austin Allegro.
8th - Perodua Nippa.
7th - Toyota Landcruiser.
6th - Citroen 2CV.
5th - Peugeot 405.
4th - Ford Mondeo.
3rd - Seat Leon.
1st - Alfa 156.
1st - TVR Tuscan.

I was going to set up a new backroom poll so that people could vote for either the TVR or the Alfa in a bonus round of BB's garage. This would *hopefully* have prevented further vote rigging.
However, after extensive pratting around by me, I still cannot get the poll (similar to what Martyn set up some time ago) to work properly.

Actually, doesn't that happen? I'm sure that several local councils have run buses to get their own supporters to the voting stations, especially the elderly who might have trouble otherwise.

I haven't actually heard of councils doing it, but there is nothing improper about assisting and encouraging those eligible to vote.
It'd be a difft matter going outside the area to encourage people who would not otherwise be eligible to vote, to come in and sign up purely for that election so that they can swing the poll in one particular direction.

Indeed they do, but voters have to be registered before an election is called.
Next time there's an election on round your way, and it's going badly for your favourite candidate since he's been carried off on a flatbed truck, try going out to recruit more voters to improve your man's chances.

No, it's fine and well. Got it back on Friday afternoon. Turned out to be a fault with the cable taking the signal from the RPM sensor to the ECU. It was intermitently telling the ECU that I was pulling sufficient revs to get airborne, which the ECU saw as a bad thing, shutting the engine down to save it from self-destructing.
Not one the garage had come across before and a new one on the various Alfa forums, so just putting it down as "one of those things".
And yes, the part in question has "Bosch" written on it :o)

My '86 Spider was grounded for exactly the saem reason. The sensor in question is one of 2 boloted to the flywheel housing.
Er.... I did mention this in a previous post when your garage were still trying to find the problem...

Just to echo a few of the others, Thanks for organising this. It's been a real hoot!
If you want to organise another at a later date but are too busy I guess either I or any other backroomer could do it. I suppose you wouldn't need moderator status to organise it, just leave that in the capable hands of the three of you.
