Physical experience and touch when car buying - BwBry23

Hey all,

I am currently writing my dissertation that explores whether the importance of physically experiencing and touching a car before purchase is changing, and whether technologies such as online car dealers are impacting this. It would be fantastic if any of you would spare around 6 minutes to complete my survey as I would love to get your opinions.

Like i said it, it should only take about 6 minutes and participants need to be 18+ and must have bought a new or used car in the last 12 months.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts :)

Still having a dig at me for comments made on the General Discussion section? Friendly jibes and jokes are made between friends. That''s a pretty low blow Alan.

Why exclude so many with the 'must have bought a car in the last year' criterion? I only buy a car every ten years or so, and have no intention of buying another in the foreseeable future.

Physical experience and to touch was enough for me, now we're talking about low blows too?

Presumably because they want experiences still relatively fresh in the buyers minds?.

What I'm more intrigued by is why participants must be 18+ years old. The within 1 year clause may well be inclusive of most 17year olds experience of buying their 1st car, but it will surely exclude many who bought their 1st car while still 16.

I presume that's about being able to give the appropriate consent.

It might be because under 18's are classed as minors. I'm not sure re survey ethics/consent etc but I had experience of this when under 18's foundation courses were introduced at the University I worked at - the problem was all facilities / infrastructure were designed for over 18's - eg unfiltered internet.

No, I'm not having a dig at you Andy, get over yourself? How can that be seen as having a dig? You make no sense as usual.

I'm not sure there are many on the forum who meet the criteria of having bought a car in the last 12 months. If there are and have any questions then I suggest contacting the survey owner directly: Ben Bryan 19691773@students.lincoln.ac.uk.

I can't see there's anything further to discuss on this.
