Suzuhi SX4 - How does executor take ownership of deceased car? - mowerman

I’m the executor in my late brother’s estate. He owned a car. My solicitor advises that the car can now be sold. I have the V5C which shows my brother as the registered keeper.
I wish to send the car to auction but the auctioneers say they cannot accept a vehicle from me if it is not registered in my name. I cannot transfer ownership to myself as section 8 requires a signature from the current registered keeper. Where to from here?

How else do they resell cars that have been repossessed? Surely the debtor wont have signed the car away.

Sign it yourself, no one will even look at it. But it’ll take time, it’s better to do it online.
