Got my locking wheel nuts £25 ish from the dealer instead of the £60 in the MG accessories catalogue. ( Part number change) Dealer fitted them for free.

Prices for spare wheels..

15 inch steel as per Explore model.. £213 + vat. How can they justify that in view of the prices for the alloys below.

17 inch 10 spoke, (excite) £198 + vat

17" diamond cut 5 spoke (exclusive) £197 + vat

The wheel shop 15 or 16" steel inc appropriate tyre £134.95

seat cushion material detached from frame, refitted without fuss 30 seconds.

In the end, bought a 17" alloy from my nice local (Kerridges) dealer in Needham Market, tookint to a certain fast fit and put a budget tyre on it, as it is a just in case spare.

Fits nicely in the wheel well.

As you keep your cars for a reasonable period, you might as well put a matching tyre on it and rotate all 5. That way you will get some use out of it, and possibly extend tyre life overall.

Good gracious - the cost of wheeling obscure cars! Having succumbed to SHMBO pressure for winter tyres on the Focus last year (a good call - it was a bad winter!) I got a spare set of four alloys and three decent tyres ( the fourth was duff, replaced by 'Pete' for a few notes) for £60 on ebay. Saves the hassle and expense of exchanging tyres every six months.

OEM tyres allegedly premium chinese, so not going to have the same when time comes to change. spare is literally as a just in case. but got OEM jack that looks quite robust from dealer. Nice surprise, knocked 17£ off the alloy. (and i didn't ask)

Did not want the tyre inflation kit...

Off to Belgium for a few days.

Oh, and MPG after another 346 miles 40.5 mpg mostly A roads and shortish trips locally.

That mpg figure is pretty good for a n/a 1.5 in an (albeit small) SUV body. Probably a good chance it will improve as the engine loosens up.

Yup, thats how it works.

Getting wheels for the Ceed in 2010 was difficult but eventually got lucky on e-bay with a set off a Soul.

Wheels for the Note were non existant but at least MyTyres did wheel/tyre combinations for about £90 including Nokian winter tyres.

VAG and BMW wheels are no problem finding, loads of good ones out there.

Best was the Fabia. 4 steel wheels with winter tyres (6mm remaining) from a local Skoda Forum member, £80. No damage or repairs to any of the wheels or tyres, bargain.

I had much the same experience with Honda a little while back. I was quoted over £450 for a single 17" alloy wheel, yet the same sized wheel in the Honda accessory brochure is £190 all-in. For almost the same price as a single 17" wheel, I could have had four 16" wheels fitted. Granted, different styles may necessitate higher prices, but really?!

In the end I got my existing wheel repaired for £80.

I ended up with that as I wanted something OEM because it is not a modification. Lokking there are some opel/astra whhels that fit. But the wheel bolts are 14.5 not 12.5 as the wheel-size. Com site suggests. So had to be careful. When I have time after this holiday will see if astra /insignia 7j 17 pcd 105 wheels will fit. Offset is 2mm out. But need to check with the bolt size...

Never heard of this site, very useful but why do the say an MG is a European car?

But the wheel bolts are 14.5 not 12.5.....need to check with the bolt size...

This confused me, never heard of 12.5 or 14.5 wheel bolts. Looking on the site both the ZS and Astra use 12 mm x 1.5 bolts (12 mm diameter, 1.5 mm thread pitch). No problem there.

Offset is 2mm out.

Cannot see what the offset is for the MG (its not listed) but the Astra is either 43 or 44 mm depending on the model. In reality 2mm should not cause a problem, tyres of the same dimension will differ more than 2mm depending on the brand.

Good news is the Astra and MG both have the same fixing PCD (5 x 105 mm) and the same centre bore (56.6 mm).

Looks like in theory it could be a cheap way to a set of winter wheels but I suspect that your insurers may take fitting wheels from a different brand rather dimly, they will almost certainly class it as a modification which will increase premiums.

Having said that seen plenty of cars with wheels on from different manufacturers, bloke down the road from us has Merc wheels on his VW and I would be stunned if he had mentioned it. They don't even fit under the arches.

Hi Guys,

Did someone figure out an offset for MG ZS SUV? Looks like it is ET41, but this is based on eBay page where MG ZS SUV alloys are sold.

Also, I'm finding conflicting info on whenever it has 5x105 or 5x110.

Can someone confirm it?

https://www.wheel-size.com/

5 x 105 centre bore 56.6 same 15 or 17" uk et41 as per e bay.

Thanks, but are you sure 15in ET is 41? I'm pretty sure it is 39 or something as I can't find any steel wheels with ET41 in that size.

MG ZS 2018 - The fun of wheels. - oldroverboy.

The 2 mm isn't a problem here

If you really want to you can fit 2mm spacers or shims.
