as the wheel-size. Com site suggests.
Never heard of this site, very useful but why do the say an MG is a European car?
But the wheel bolts are 14.5 not 12.5.....need to check with the bolt size...
This confused me, never heard of 12.5 or 14.5 wheel bolts. Looking on the site both the ZS and Astra use 12 mm x 1.5 bolts (12 mm diameter, 1.5 mm thread pitch). No problem there.
Offset is 2mm out.
Cannot see what the offset is for the MG (its not listed) but the Astra is either 43 or 44 mm depending on the model. In reality 2mm should not cause a problem, tyres of the same dimension will differ more than 2mm depending on the brand.
Good news is the Astra and MG both have the same fixing PCD (5 x 105 mm) and the same centre bore (56.6 mm).
Looks like in theory it could be a cheap way to a set of winter wheels but I suspect that your insurers may take fitting wheels from a different brand rather dimly, they will almost certainly class it as a modification which will increase premiums.
Having said that seen plenty of cars with wheels on from different manufacturers, bloke down the road from us has Merc wheels on his VW and I would be stunned if he had mentioned it. They don't even fit under the arches.
