Should I reject a used car that has been awaiting repair for three weeks?
I purchased a used car from a dealer in November and from day one it has had a recurring intermittent fault, causing the car to enter limp mode.
The dealer encouraged me to keep the car and they would fix it. After numerous trips to garages the car is still not repaired and is now residing at another garage where it’s been for three weeks. The car is under warranty.
What rights do I have in returning the car? I would obviously have not kept the car knowing it seemingly is very hard to repair.

You have the right to reject this vehicle, as it is under warranty and is clearly not of sufficient quality if it needs immediate repairs and has been off the road for much of the time you have owned it.
You can ask them to supply you with another vehicle of equivalent value to your new car instead of waiting for repairs or rejecting the car outright - this may be the best solution as it will get you back on the road as soon as possible.
Write to the dealer and send your letter by recorded post, explaining the situation, why you are unhappy and what you want them to do to rectify the problem. Be aware though, this could be a lengthy and time consuming process. You can find more information here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/how-to-reject-a-car-your-cons.../
