HI I am having a serious problem with my little corsa B.it has only done 76000 miles and was made in 2000.

when it starts it revs at 1300 unless I throttle it ,it judders and feesll ike the engine is going to fall out.so I throttle it and stay at 60 or 70 or in a higher gear through the streets or it judders like hell .when idle it revs at 13 to 1500 and sounds like it is hunting.I have changed the air mass sensor(used one) thats connected the plastic pipe that connects to the airfilter and carb looking thing.I took off the egr valve cleanded it still no improvement.when it is juddering the engine mangement light comes on and been told it is running on safety mode and uses more fuel. any advice would be helpful please this girl needs her car to go to Munich in a few months.And I am lost without it please advise me ty x

If the engine light is on,then it is probably a good idea to get the diagnostic system checked for any relevant fault logs. If it is hunting,then there could be an air intake/induction leak.

Thank you for your assistance.The engine mamagement light is on and was told its running in safety mode.it idles at 1200 and when it starts to judder there is no change in any of the istruments on the dashboard when it judders it feels like the engine is going to fall out.but if I give it some throttle after a little clutch riding it runs ok.Could a defective exhaust cause the juddering ?? as my male neighbour said if thats defective it can buiold up burnt gasses and cause it ot judder.Im at a loss at the mo.just lost my job so diagnostic check is out of the question for now.xxxx

Has the battery been off/flat or disconnected at ant time reacently?

No the battery has not been off,it started juddering worse after I had a new exhaust fitted last year. could that cause it to hunt or what ever the term isxx.btw Thank you for your replyxx

I'll lhave a proper look when the weather is better..
