Have you checked the pads and surfaces on the disc blind side, and have you checked the calipers piston(s) and sliders are free to allow normal operation, if all is working ok then reassemble using a little correct brake grease on the rear and edges of the pad back-plates where they are shiny (showing signs of vibration/contact) and also the pins and sliders.
If nothing is brought up by the MoT, I shall ask the garage to look at the brakes as they are servicing the car at the same time. I don't like to take risks with brakes and tyres, as I carry my kids and their friends in the car every day.
I wonder if it's me? When I was a coach driver, our mechanic used to moan that I built up a glaze on my brake shoes, as I used the exhaust brake and Telma to do the work. My wife reckons I drive like a pensioner!
