Ford Fiesta Finesse 1998 1.3 - Ford Fiesta Starting Problems - Steve Wilkinson

Hi,can someone please give me some advise,

My daughters Ford Fiesta Finesse 1998 1.3 has developed some strange starting problem.

Heres whats happening, you can go to the car and put the key in the ignition and sometimes it will start no problem then the next time you go to it and try again it will not start, fiddled with the door locks and ignition and of it goes again, turned off and removed keys locked car.

Unlocked car wont start again,battery good,when it wont start there is no noise from the starter etc. leave it alone and try again later and it will start.

Sounds like a faulty ignition lock switch,

They do wear out and this thing is getting on in years.

Or could be a fauty starter solenoid.

When the car is in a non start condition,check the operation of the red led immobiliser light next to the clock.Is it solid or flashing?Locking or unlocking the car has no effect on its starting.
