Mercedes C-Class 2012 year AMG Sport C 180 - Battery Life - Baffled of Baldock

My car is now 3 months out of 3 year warranty and have just had to have a second new battery (the first one after 18 months on warranty). Mercedes refused any contribution although my dealer did give 10% on battery price. 18 month battery life seems outragously short to me. Anybody have similar experience? What would be my best action to get a decent contribution from MB.

Yes it does!! But if this is a factor MB should fit a more suitable battery for a car priced at £35,000. What do you think?

Surely a battery should have at least a 3 year warranty?If you are on the second one,then I would think it is not fit for purpose.You get a better warranty on a £20 toaster!!!

Sounds like a more serious issue than stop start. Mercs have two batteries, so if there is a problem with the main one the smaller battery may allow everything to continue operating not flagging up a problem.

We have two MB with stop start system, both over three years old and no issues whatsoever with the batteries on either.

Only larger Mercs like E Class and above have 2 batteries. C class only one.

My 2013 C class has two. I know because the smaller consumer battery failed and was replaced under warranty at about 18 months old.
