Ford Focus Zetec 2002 - Focus Rear Wireing Loom Repair - Moalley

I have the common focus problem of broken wires in the loom on the tailgate hatch, as i intend to repair myself what size wires do i need to do this, they all seem different thicknesses so i assume i cant repair with one type of electrical wire...thanks

If you are going to splice in new cables between the body and tailgate,as they are only short runs ,it is ok to use all the same thickness.Keep to 1.0 mm size cable and make the joints in the body and tailgate,not in the rubber boot.I would suggest disconnecting the battery before doing this repair.

I have had to do this repair before on a Volvo 245 estate. In case it crops up again is there a spec of "extra flex" cable available, similar to the stuff that used to be supplied for instrument test leads?
