Peugeot 307 SW - Wet Passenger footwell - phurst221174

My 2006 1.6 petrol 307 has a wet Passenger footwell. I noticed it a few months ago and put it down to all the bad weather we have had. I hoovered out today and it's still wet, when I ribbed my hand on it the liquid was not water and looked like a fine oil. The brakes have been changed recently, but after the first time I noticed it was wet. Any ideas?

A fine oil on the passenger side could be brake fluid.Take a look up behind the glove box, this is where the brake servo is located. It is poosible there is a leak.

Have had a look under the glove box and had the carpet out. I can't see any leaks or trails of liquid at all.

On my old car, my footwell was full of anti freeze, the guy in the garage actually tasted it on his finger!! :-( he put something in the radiator that filled any holes, it worked for me :-)

If that is the cause, it sounds as if the heater matrix may be leaking, especially if the coolant has never been changed. Has the coolant level dropped?
