Skoda Octavia - Autotrader-dealer.com - Scam? - flippin 'ec!

Hi

Does anyone have any knowledge or have had any dealings with a company called autotrader-dealer.com?

I've been offered £3,100 for my Octy 2.0Fsi Elegance (2006/55) which seems like a good deal - must sell the car to them in the next 24 hours if the deal is to go through. Just checking whether anybody on here has either received an offer from or sold a car to this company.

Hopefully this is the real deal - website looks OK but you never know...

Walk away -quickly!

With just a Freepost address on their website you've no way of tracing them if it goes wrong.

No company address, no company numbers, no company VAT details. My first question is who exactly are you dealing with? A legit setup would have no problems actually telling you.

Most of these scam's involve paying the company a 'booking' fee stating that they will repay you back the fee when you turn up.

The thing is 'they' never turn up and pocket your booking fee and then disappear.

Run very fast away from these scammers.

Might be amusing if you're a bit bored to waste some of their time though by going through the preliminaries with some inventive emails, desperately trying to send them money but for some reason the system won't allow it etc.

your best bet is an ebay 3 day sale.

be prepared to take whatever it makes and be as honest as possible in the ad description.
