Ford All & Any - Genuine space saver spare wheel ? - Pauline10

Hello

Can anyone out there please advise, if Ford ever issued a GENUINE space saver spare wheel with any of their passenger cars ?

When I say "Genuine" I mean a specifically designed, reduced width wheel, not a normal road wheel and tyre that happen to be narrower than the wheels fitted as standard on the car.

Our C-Max had a space saver fitted as standard.

Our old Mondeo had a standard size spare tyre fitted on a lightweight steel rim which was rated as the same speed as a space saver. Initially we thought great, full size spare but when fitted we were limited to 80kph which is the same as a space saver. Bought an alloy from the scrappy and threw away the useless lightweight steel rim.

I bought a new Focus Titanium a month ago and it came with a space saver wheel under the cover in the boot along with all the tools to change it over if required

Hello again.

I am now told that Mondeo's were, at one time, issued with space saver spare consisting of a full size tyre mounted on a lightweight steel rim. Can anyone please offer confirmation on this and advise if this was a 13, 14 or 15 inch wheel?

I wrote above that was what we had with our Mondeo and it was a total waste of time and space.

Thought that would have been obvious. If its full size it will be the same size as the rest of the wheels which in our case were 16" alloys.

You will find that no Mondeo's have ever been fitted with 13" wheels and I would be very surprised if any had been fitted with 14" wheels.
