Why is there no spare wheel in an i10?
I was looking at reviews of the new Hyundai i10 on you tube. One was in Australia and another in Ireland. Both of these had a spare wheel and associated tools whereas in the UK there is only the stupid puncture repair kit. I believe you can get a spare wheel at extra cost but why should we have to pay extra whereas it is included in other countries?

The exact specification of a vehicle is usually determined by the local market, so there will be variations depending on the specific needs of the market. Many manufacturers have omitted spare wheels in the name of weight saving for reduced emissions and potentially increased boot space. Although purchasing a spare wheel as a cost option might be an irritation, the cost of the vehicle varies between markets also - in Ireland the cheapest i10 is currently 21,545 Euros, equivalent to £17,921, whereas in the UK the cheapest i10 is presently £16,030.
